I am a big fan of Google Translate. However, I notice that other people do not seem to make much use of it, and in some cases where non-English speakers detect that I'm using it, they break off a conversation.
What a shame!
While no machine translation is perfect, I find that Google Translate allows me to communicate with people around the world that I would never otherwise have the opportunity to get to know.
Have others noticed this phenomenon?
What can be done to address this problem so that language does not become an impediment to friendship and communication?
Please share your thoughts…
